Messaging A Business
Messaging a business is a good way to gage interest in working with your school on a specific program. Messaging is also how you will start the process with businesses you have already matched. This article will walk you through the ways to message a business.
Message a business #1: Business Directory
- Start by clicking on the “Business Directory” in the top navigation.
- Once there, find the business you wish to message and click on their box.
- You will then be taken to their profile page. On the page you will see an area labeled “Business Information” and you will see a button that says “Message”.
- Clicking the “Message” button will take you to the messages page with a new message already created and addressed to that business. (If you have already been messaging this business, the “Message” button will open your current messages with that business).
Message a business #1: Connections Page
- To message a business you’ve already connected with, start by clicking on the “Connections” in the top navigation.
- On the Connections page, you will see all of the business you’ve connected with and those that are still pending.
- Scroll to one labeled “Match” and on the right side you will see a button that says “Message”.
- Clicking the “Message” button will take you to the messages page with a new message already created and addressed to that business. (If you have already been messaging this business, the “Message” button will open your current messages with that business).

- If you know the business name already (and they have signed up on Adopt-a-school), then you can start by clicking on the “Messages” link in the top navigation.
- Once on the messages page, you will need to click the “New Message” button, symbolized by a pencil in a box icon.
- This will create a new message. Clicking in the area next to “To:” will allow you type in the business name and existing profiles that match this business name will appear. *Note: If the business has not yet registered on Adopt-a-school, then this business will not appear on this list*
